Westshore Terminals celebrates its 40th year of business in 2010. The coal export terminal located at Roberts Bank, Delta BC,
some 32 kilometres south of downtown Vancouver, is part of Port Metro Vancouver. It is Canada’s No. 1 coal export facility, easily surpassing
the combined coal shipments of all other terminals in Canada.
For the past decade, Westshore has also been the busiest single export coal terminal in all of North America, routinely shipping about 21
million tonnes of coal each year and bringing in billions of dollars of wealth to Canada.
In recent years, Westshore has proved to be the only viable choice on the west coast for United States
coal mines in the region. US Shipments reached a record 2 million tonnes in 2009.
The Westshore Terminals Limited Partnership is owned by Westshore Terminals Investment Corporation, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Westshore
Terminals Holdings Ltd. Westar Management Ltd. has a long-term, renewable contract to operate and manage the terminal.
