Environment
Roberts Bank, where Westshore is situated, is an ecologically rich area nestled between Tsawwassen, Ladner and Richmond in suburban Greater Vancouver. Its tidal waters are sometimes clouded by silting from the nearby Fraser River, making it fertile for plants such as eel grass. This attracts fish, crabs and abundant birdlife, and several pods of feeding killer whales cruise through the Strait of Georgia.
The closest residents are situated across Roberts Bank waters in suburban Tsawwassen, while the Tsawwassen First Nations Reserve is located around the base of the five-kilometre causeway leading to the terminal. The causeway has aided the stability of local tidal waters.
Westshore is committed to being a caring, responsible neighbour in this fragile environment. For over 40 years, the terminal has peacefully co-existed with our neighbours as a responsible corporate citizen.
